Description
This Royal Doulton Burslemware willow pattern pitcher was made c.1880, and is 17.25cm high. There is some crazing to the glaze on the inside typical of a piece this old. Otherwise it is in very good conditon with no chips or cracks. Have you ever wondered why there are three men walking over the bridge? The story that emerged during the nineteenth century describes the three men crossing the bridge as servants chasing the King’s daughter, who had eloped with her lover. The King objected to his daughter’s amorous choice and he sent his servents to stop her at all costs.
