This fantastic Vintage Ford Auto Portable Radio was made c.1960. It is 16.5cm wide, and has a retractable antenna. The concept was to have a portable radio, which could be also used as a car radio by means of a cradle mounted in the dash, with a power amplifier and connection to the normal car aerial. Thus, one could arrive at a picnic spot, remove the radio from the car, and have it provide entertainment at the picnic table. What a treat that must have been in the 1960s! This one has not been tested as it does not come with the Ford vehicle that provides the power 🙂
