This very early pewter teapot by Thomas Otley & Sons dates to around 1808 and stands 20cm high. It is an important historical piece, representing early 19th-century English pewter production, when household wares were still largely handmade and closely tied to local makers. Pewter of this period often contains a high lead content, and for that reason this teapot is not advised for use and is best appreciated as a display or study piece. Its age, maker attribution, and survival make it a strong example of early domestic metalware.
