Description
This early soup ladle by John Yates, England, dates to around 1800 and is 35cm long. Made from very early pewter, it has a surprisingly soft feel that reflects the high lead content typical of the period. Because of this, it is for display only and not recommended for use. A strongly historical piece, it offers a tangible connection to early 19th-century domestic life and the hand-made metalware of its time.
